Error Handling

Handle authentication, rate limits and upstream failures consistently.

Retry policy

Retry only transient network errors, 429, 500, 502 and 503 responses. Use exponential backoff with jitter and a maximum attempt count. Do not retry invalid 400 requests without changing them.
