Claude Code is Anthropic's AI coding CLI. LAYSO AI's Anthropic-compatible endpoint lets you use one API key across the models available on the platform.

LAYSO AI bills at the selected model's current price. Every successful request has an itemized charge; failed tasks are not charged.

Before you start

Requirement	Details
LAYSO AI API key	Create and store it securely in the LAYSO AI dashboard
Node.js	Required for the npm installation path
Project directory	Start Claude Code from the repository root

1. Install Claude Code

Set ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL and ANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKEN with shell commands. No provider-manager UI is required.

Minimum configuration

Run /status inside Claude Code to inspect the active connection and model. Copy exact model IDs from the LAYSO AI dashboard.

Authentication troubleshooting

Symptom	Check
401 / 403	The API key and the current shell's ANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKEN
404	A path appended after the root Base URL
Unknown model	The exact model ID shown in the dashboard
Terminal works, editor fails	Fully restart the editor so it reloads the environment
